May 10, 1935 - Dec 1, 2017
It is with great sadness we announce that Moe, after a long battle with diabetes, passed away in Vernon Jubilee Hospital on December 1, 2017 with his daughters at his side.
Moe is survived by his sons: Fred and Mark (Julie); his daughters: Debbie (Wayne) and Lori (Jeff); six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three brothers, four sisters, several nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eileen; parents, Houssin and Jamili; and granddaughter, Nicole Halat.
Moe came to Canada from Jib Jinine, Lebanon in April of 1954. He worked in construction in Edmonton, met his wife of 43 years and moved to Calgary in 1957 where he raised his family. He became a barber by day and a manager of a hotel by night.
In 1977 he moved to Kelowna and bought his first night club. Moe owned and operated several night clubs in Kelowna and Vernon. This work kept him young at heart. In his spare time, he loved to fish and travel. Moe will be missed by all who knew him.
A private family service was held at the Vernon Mosque and Islamic Centre on December 6, 2017. Moe was laid to rest in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
A Celebration of Moe's Life, hosted by his very good friends, Saverio Loria and Bryan Quint, will be held at Status Night Club on December 16, 2017.
Arrangements have been entrusted to PLEASANT VALLEY DIGNITY FUNERAL HOME, 4303 P.V. Road, Vernon, B.C. V1T 4M4 Phone: (250) 542-4333.
