In Loving Memory ~
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our much beloved Morgan Evan Powell, who was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident in the early hours of September 30, 2024 in Kamloops B.C.
Morgan leaves behind his mother Linda Powell and step-father Don Sabourin, his father Clive Powell and step-mother Jill Walker, his sister Shannon Powell, his step-daughter Ayrianna Kouchnire and his sweetheart Meagan Chale. He also leaves a large extended family and a broad circle of friends. Morgan was a humble, honest, kind-hearted, fun-loving, respectful and thoughtful man. He was an absolutely fabulous brother for Shannon, they shared a unique and special loving bond together. He was also a wonderful son who could always be counted on to do the right thing. He loved Ayrianna very much as he helped raise her through childhood for 10 years. And he had never been as happy as he was in the past 5 magical months with Meagan.
Morgan was born on November 16, 1986 in Vernon BC. He graduated from Kamloops Senior Secondary in 2005 and then went on to obtain a Diploma in Kinesiology at Red Deer College, followed by a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics at UBC Okanagan. He was recently employed as a Journeyman Insulator in the Alberta oil and gas industry.
Morgan was highly respected and appreciated by all who knew him, but especially his friends and mates from work, as he was always easy-going, genuine, hard-working and reliable. He loved to walk, read, hike, fish, golf, and his latest passion, ride his motorcycle. He will be forever missed by his loving family and friends. Life will never be the same without his smiling face coming through the door.
A fund has been established to purchase a city park bench in his honour, as well as to continue to provide the support that Morgan intended for his step-daughter Ayrianna.
