On September 15, 2016 we lost a true gentleman.

Morley O. Boyd was born in Windsor, Ontario on April 13, 1930 and passed away at Dufferin Care Facility in Nanaimo, BC.

Morley moved to BC as a young man and met the love of his life, Gracie. They married and were together for almost 40 years, until Gracie passed away in 1997. They shared a sense of adventure and over the years travelled to many interesting and out-of-the way places. Morley particularly liked showing Gracie the beauty of remote areas from the sky, as he was an accomplished pilot and enjoyed flying whenever possible.

During their time together they were both active in the Lions Club. Morley was awarded a lifetime membership for his years of service.

He was also a talented musician who played the piano, violin and saxophone.

They lived in various communities including Williams Lake, Summerland, Castlegar and lastly, Kelowna.

Their home was always a warm and welcoming place where visitors could drop in, unannounced.

Morley was a charming, outgoing man who will be remembered for the strength of his handshake. He always wore a smile and was never too busy to lend a hand when it was needed. He was a man of strength, integrity and determination. He was able to make the best of every situation. His positive attitude, sense of humour and general good-nature will be missed by all who knew him.

He will be fondly remembered by numerous family members and friends in the Okanagan and on Vancouver Island.
