MRS. BERYL ALDAG

MRS. BERYL ALDAG (nee Woodruff) passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, August 20th, 2005 at the age of 63 years, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Bill, to whom she was married for 37 years, her daughters; Karen (Jonathan) of Ottawa, Ontario and Heather (Sean) of Calgary, Alberta, her sisters; Joan (Ian) of Liverpool, England and Pauline (Tony) of Banbury, England. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Gwladys. Beryl was born in Liverpool, England where she met Bill. They were married in 1968 and moved to Hythe, Hampshire. In 1969 they emigrated to Canada and settled in Thompson, Manitoba where Beryl stayed until 1999 except for a five year period of time when she resided with her family in Soroako, Indonesia. On retirement in 1999, Beryl and Bill moved to Coldstream where she really enjoyed many outdoor activities, golf and lawn bowling in particular. She had also started to enjoy the pleasures of 5-pin bowling before the start of her illness. After a successful career as an executive secretary, Beryl, who was a devoted mother, chose to stay at home to raise her children. She often carried out volunteer work for various organizations and was very well organized, exhibiting a strong sense of duty – always ensuring she finished whatever she started. Her caring and sense of humour will be sorely missed by all who knew her well. In respecting Beryl’s wishes, she was cremated and there will be no formal Funeral Service held. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Beryl to the Canadian Cancer Society, #104-3402-27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1S1. Cremation arrangements have been made with BETHEL FUNERAL CHAPEL LTD., 5605-27th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 8Z5
