September 20, 1949 - February 10, 2021
Mrs.Terry-Lyn Mitchell (née Lennon), age 71, died at home in Armstrong, BC, on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
Born on September 20, 1949 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she lived in Saskatoon until marrying Bruce. Together they lived in multiple towns throughout Saskatchewan, the North West Territories and Manitoba.
She was an incredible source of consistent love and support to Bruce and to her two children, Shaun and Amber during these many moves. Throughout her career as a teacher, Terry-Lyn was admired by students and colleagues for the care and professionalism demonstrated each day in her classroom until retiring in 2004. After retirement, Terry-Lyn and Bruce moved to Armstrong, BC. Terry-Lyn was actively involved in the community of Armstrong and First Baptist Church, building cherished relationships as she had in every place she lived.
She leaves a rich legacy of Christ's love demonstrated in her care for her husband Bruce, daughter Amber (Dan), son Shaun (Andrea) and five grandchildren: Earnan, Ella, Sophie, Luke and Sarah.
Terry-Lyn and her family would like to extend our appreciation to Dr. Humphreys and the Vernon Cancer Clinic staff, her family doctor Dr. Coetzer, and all those who have offered gracious support during her time living with cancer.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Sunnybrae Bible Camp or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Terry-Lyn wanted all of us to consider D.L. Moody's assertion, "Some of you will read in the newspaper that I am dead. Don't believe it for a moment! At this moment I am more alive than ever before. I have gone up higher, that is all; gone out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal, a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint, a body like unto His own glorious body."
A Celebration of Life service will be available online Saturday, February 20th at 2:00 pm.
