Mr. Myron Nicholas Nimchuk passed away in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 62 years. Myron was born in Anola, Manitoba on April 18th, 1944, the youngest son of Nick & Sophie Nimchuk. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Doris on October 8th, 1991. He leaves his two sons; Gary and Kevin (Karen) and his two special grandchildren; Janelle and Jackson who will mourn his passing. “Gedo” thought the world of his grandkids. Myron is also survived by his brother and sister; Donald (Carole) of Langley, B.C. and Madeline (Joe) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, his mother-in-law, Betty Russell of Edmonton, Alberta and numerous extended family members. Myron received his education in Manitoba and moved to B.C. to pursue a career in heavy duty mechanics. He met Doris Russell in Vernon and they were married on July 19th, 1969. He was employed with Finning Tractor his entire career and retired in 1999. Myron enjoyed fishing, curling and golfing and was a dedicated volunteer fireman for almost 20 years with the BX Fire Department. Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 8th, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Allan Dawe officiating. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel. At the conclusion of the Reception Myron’s cremated remains will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
