August 9, 1980 - April 26, 2020
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Nadine Justine Sheedy Sunday April 26, 2020. We are forever grateful that when she passed, she was safe, and with her brother.
It is impossible to capture a person in an obituary, even more so when that person suffered from drug and alcohol addiction most of their adult life. To some, when they saw Nadine and her addiction, they stopped seeing her. To us she was so much more. Nadine was warm, kind and resilient. She cared deeply for others and loved with all her heart. She kept everyone around her on their toes, always full of surprises with
her fiery spirit and gracious loving heart. Moments with Nadine will never be forgotten, they were filled with laughter, joy, love and tears. Her love of family will never be doubted, she always saw the best in people, was fiercely loyal, and was a trusting compassionate soul.
After losing a dear friend to a workplace accident January 2017, her addiction brought her to places of incredible darkness, and inconsolable suffering. We always believed she would overcome her struggles and make the life for herself that we knew she deserved. We believed this up until she took her last breath.
Our most sincere heartfelt thanks to those who advocated for her and believed in her ability to get sober. In a world that seems to have hardened itself against those struggling, you were and continue to be light in the darkness.
If you yourself are struggling from addiction, please know that we are praying for you. We believe in you and that you can make it. It is never too late to try and know that every moment of every day is a fresh start.
If you are reading this with judgment, wake up, probability is high that someone you know is struggling, and that person needs and deserves your empathy, compassion and support.
Predeceased by both her mother and father, Nadine leaves behind brother JP (Christyna), sisters Carrie and Janina Zarowny (Garret) nieces Ella-Marie, Sadie Grace, Adelynn, Alexi, Hadlee and Lydia nephews William, Isaac, Jason and Kolby.
We take great comfort in knowing that Nadine is now surrounded by light, and free from the struggles that tirelessly haunted her. We would have given anything for her to experience that freedom in this lifetime here with us on earth. May she rest easy.
