Nancy passed away peacefully on Saturday May 15, 2010 in Vernon Hospice House after a brief but valiant struggle against cancer at age 70, surrounded by friends and family. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Peter, sons George and Henry, daughters in law Carole and Jo, and grandchildren David, Laura and Alexander.
Nancy was born January 13, 1940 in Taiwan. She came to Canada in 1970 with her 2 young sons to join her husband and the family settled in Vernon. A schoolteacher in Taiwan, her life in Canada was an adventure as she became a successful nurse, business woman, mother and spouse. At the end, she said that she had no regrets and that she was happy and satisfied with all of her accomplishments. Later in life, she especially loved being around her grandchildren, as they brought a lot of joy and love to her life. When she finally left us, she knew that we all loved her very much, and we expressed this to her through our grief and tears.
Good-bye mom, grandma, Ah-Ma, we love you so much, and we will sorely miss you.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 26 at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Rd., Vernon. Followed by a traditional Buddhist funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506-27 Ave, Vernon, BC, V1T 1S4.
