Natalie was born on May 16th, 1924 in Glentworth, Saskatchewan and passed away on August 18th, 2019 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 95 years. She is survived by her loving daughters; Patricia (Darrell) Nelson of Lakewood, Washington and Sharon Brown of Manhattan Beach, California, her 4 grandchildren; Kimberly (David), Karen (Steve), Steven and Kevin (Sarita), her 4 great grandchildren; Carlton, Leanna, Lily and Sierra, 2 brothers; Harry & Wally (Alice) Klim along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her son Wayne and her husband of 68 years, Joe.
At the age of 12 Natalie moved with her large family to Armstrong and graduated from the Red Brick school. In 1940 she met her future husband Joe at a wedding and married him in 1942 at All Saints Anglican Church in Vernon.
They bought their 1st house in the B.X. with 10 acres of an apple orchard and they raised their 3 children there until 1959 when they moved a 1/2 mile down the road. Natalie loved vegetable and flower gardening and spent endless hours nurturing them, plus did a lot of canning. She worked in the Vernon Fruit Union Packing House and also was a cook at the Army Camp in the summer. She was very active in The Anglican Women's St. Anne's Guild, also collected for The Canadian Cancer Society and worked on The Canadian Census. In retirement they purchased a motor home and took many trips in it including to Manhattan Beach to visit Sharon and her family and to Arizona. They joined the Good Samaritans RV Club. Adventures included flying to Hawaii with Patty and Darrell and later to Europe. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by us all.
Cremation preceded a Memorial Service which will be held at All Saints Anglican Church on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 at 10 am with Reverend Canon Chris Harwood-Jones officiating. A Reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Natalie to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
