With heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Neville Cave age 86 years, on February 13th, 2014 after a short stay at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Vernon, B.C. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Neville will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 60 years, Maisie. He is a loving father of Dean and his wife Donna, Todd and his wife Tammy, and Darren and his wife Michelle. Neville is a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren who will miss him dearly: Jennifer, Heather, Jordan, Kevan, Brett, Lauren and Taylor.
Neville was the youngest of four children of Coot and Amelia Cave born on October 30th, 1927. He is predeceased by his parents, and his siblings Rita, Beryl and Mervin. Neville was born, raised and lived most of his life in Calgary, Alberta before retiring in the Vernon area. Prior to his retirement in 1987, Neville was a hardworking, dedicated member of the Calgary Fire Department for almost 37 years. Square Dancing played an important part of Neville and Maisie’s life, both within the Calgary and Vernon areas. The family would like to thank Dr. Murphy, Nurses Cheryl and Denise, and staff at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital for their kindness and care.
The Funeral Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, (3701 – 32nd Avenue, Vernon BC) at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 17th, 2014. Reverend Doctor Teresa Charlton will be officiating. A Memorial Reception will follow the service in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Neville’s memory to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital (2101 – 32nd Street, Vernon, BC V1T 5L2) or the Canadian Cancer Society (#104, 3402 – 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S1).
