Nita Ostafew (nee: Hodgkinson) passed away on April 15th, 2017 after a long battle with COPD.  She will be greatly missed by her husband, Brian Ostafew; daughters, Jennifer Saville and Allison McLure; grandchildren, Maddox McLure and Mackenzie McLure; granddoggies, Brodie and Sam; and brother, Roy Hodgkinson.

Nita Ostafew was born in 1949 in Chipping Norton, England.  She moved to Canada as a young girl and lived in several different cities with her mom, dad, and brother.  She met Brian in Victoria and became his wife and best friend in 1972. She was a wonderful mother to Jennifer and Allison, always involved in PTAs, dance recitals, and everything else that the girls did.

Nita golfed for several years and had many friends at the Vernon Golf Club.  She also liked playing cards with her bridge group.  Nita knew many people around Vernon through her bookkeeping business and the winter carnival. She always had a kind word for everyone she saw when doing errands around town.

A celebration of life for Nita will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 21st, 2017 at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home.  A reception will follow in the tea room.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish to make memorial contributions in memory of Nita may do so to the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
