Norma Baerg, a longtime resident of Vernon passed away Tuesday the 18th. Born in Stettler Alberta on June 27th 1933 Norma was the youngest daughter of Wilfred and Clara Murray.
She had a classic Western Canadian life. A childhood in Quesnel and Michele-Natal, and then off to Montreal at 17 for a stint in fashion design. Upon return she went to UBC and completed a degree in fine arts where she met and married Dr. Peter Baerg. She move to Vernon in 1972 and lived in the Coldstream Valley for over 35 years.
She is survived by her sister Connie, her three sons Murray, Randy (Alison) Jeff (Elizabeth) and five beautiful grandchildren Mariko, Kiyomi, Lindsay, Anna and Jesse Baerg.
Norma was active in the community as a member of the United Church UCW, the Kalamalka Weavers and Spinners Guild and the local music, arts and culture scene. She loved going to the symphony and never missed Creative Chaos where she would return with amazing gifts to share with her family and friends.
Her memorial service will be held at Trinity Unity Church in Vernon on Friday November 28th at 11:00AM with reception to follow.
