January 6, 1931 - November 25, 2024

Born in Armstrong Jan 6, 1931, the fifth child of Gladys & Augustus Schubert, Norma moved to Vernon in 1949 where she met her first husband, Ralph Tupper. They had 4 children, Lennie, Beverly, Kathryn, and Randal. Two years after Ralph's death in 1968, Norma met (at church) and married Harold Peterson, who was a great mentor to her children. Norma had 8 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

Norma was a member of UCW, and was Vernon's Maternal Grandmother of Job's Daughters. Norma retired from a career in banking in 1996, and then stepped up her arts and crafts, teaming up with Harold to include production of barbie doll tents & houses which sold at creative chaos. They also volunteered with the Heart and Stroke foundation. After Harold's passing in 2000, Norma started knitting dishcloths, which she gave to her visitors.

Norma fell and broke her hip August 26 2024, subsequently passing on Nov 25. The burial was Dec 2nd. A celebration of life will take place at Vernon's Trinity United Church at 1 PM July 12th, followed by refreshments "Time" at the Masonic Lodge, 3005 32 Street.

In addition to her children, Norma is survived by her sister Shirley Ehlers of Salmon Arm.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
