It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Norman Arthur Hitch on October 17, 2019. Norm passed away peacefully in Vernon, B.C. surrounded by his loving family.
Norm was born on May 1, 1945 in Comox, B.C., and grew up on a pheasant farm in Whonnock, B.C. Norm and Buffy started their family in North Vancouver, moved to Delta and settled in Vernon in 1979.
Norm spent his working years as an automotive electrician at Auto Marine Electric/Napa before venturing out with his own mobile air conditioning business. Norm dedicated 13 years as a volunteer firefighter for the BX Fire Hall. He loved fishing and camping with his family and friends. Tunkwa Lake being his favouite fishing hole. Papa & Pat enjoyed exploring BC, Canada and parts of the United States in his camper, often off the beaten path. He loved hitting the casino, played a mean game of crib, and his motto for cards was "Kill, Crush & Destroy"!
Norm was pre-deceased by his first wife Buffy. Norm is survived by his wife, Pat Nolan; Daughter Janice Porter & Son in Law Geoff Porter; Son Dennis Hitch & Daughter in Law Cari Rochford; Stepson Dan Nolan and Step Daughter Candy Hitch; 3 beautiful Grandchildren, Madison Porter, Eric Porter and Cameron Hitch and his beloved pooch, "Furley".
