July 20, 1933 - June 9, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Norman Edgar Moorhouse, in Vernon, BC June 9, 2021. Norman was born in Ponteix SK on July 20, 1933 to Parents Darrell & Vivian. When he was seven years old, he moved to Fort Langley, BC to be raised by his Aunt Ivie and Uncle Jack Styles. In his younger years he raised border collies and worked at Cloverdale Paint. He then moved to Powell River where he worked at the Mill and met his Wife Shirley. Norm then moved back to the coast and started a Family. He settled in the Cloverdale area on a hobby farm which he loved. He had good friends in Chetwynd, BC and decided to start a new chapter of his life. It was there he got a job at West Fraser Mill (where he stayed until he retired), was an Alderman for the City and opened up his Campground (The Wild Mare) which he was very proud of. In 2012, he moved to Vernon, BC to be closer to his family. Dad will always be remembered for his love of making people laugh. He was such a jokester and we will miss his comical ways. Norman is predeceased by his parents Darrell and Vivian, sister Mildred, brothers Meryl, Mervin, Nathan, Derwood and Richard and extended family Sheila Gerstel and Joanne Roberts. Left with memories are Daughter Margo, Son Terry (Kelly), Shirley, Grandchildren Sarah, Andy, Paull, Quinn, Great-Grandchildren Linden and Erican, and Extended Family The Gerstel Family and many friends. A special thanks to the Care Giver's at Gateby Place in Vernon. A celebration of Norman's Life will take place at a later date.
