Mar 8, 2018
Nyl McGunigle went to be with her Lord and Saviour on March 8, 2018, at the age of 73. She is survived by her children Guy (Jessica), Ben and Lia; sister Erica; brothers Dio (Sharon), Kim (Billie) and Ingvar (Janice). Predeceased by parents Aubrey and Leslie Creed, and sister Lyn.

Born in Johannesburg in 1944, she and her family emigrated to Canada in 1948, where they bought a farm in Coldstream. After a brief time in Vancouver, they moved to Kitimat in 1954, where Nyl graduated, going on to UBC to earn a BSc. degree in rehabilitation medicine. She married Ralph McGunigle in 1967; they travelled to England and New Zealand before returning to Canada. She lived in East Kelowna, Creston, Vernon, Calgary and finally Cawston and Keremeos.

Nyl loved the outdoors; wherever she went, she wanted to be out hiking in the mountains and exploring new places. She encouraged her family to sing and play music together. Books, photography, history (particularly on local subjects), geology, discussing the return of the Lord: these were all things that she enjoyed.

A special thank you to Dr Louw and all the home care nurses for making it possible for us to keep Mom at home until the end. Your kindness and support are much appreciated.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on April 21, 2018, at Victory Hall in Keremeos.
