Pat Lockwood

Pat moved to Vernon from Moncton, N.B. to marry her wartime sweetheart, Ed “Sonny” Lockwood. She was a busy and proud mother who raised five children on a small farm in the B.X. Her family has grown to include ten grandchildren & nine great-grandchildren; all of whom loved to sit with grandma singing silly songs, licking yummy batter from egg beaters, & giggling the day away. Grandma loved plants, inside & out, & eagerly awaited spring. She spent countless hours knitting, sewing, & baking for her family & friends. In her senior years Mom spent many fulfilling hours as a volunteer teacher’s aide at local schools & taught Tai Chi to other seniors & Venture Training students. She was a fixture pedestrian on the streets of Vernon in her bright red coat. She had a smile, joke, or chit-chat with everyone she met; with Pat everyone was an instant friend. She will be lovingly remembered as the best Mom & Grandma any child or grown-up could ever wish for – stuffing our faces with Parkerhouse rolls, homemade Black Forest cake, & multitudes of cookies & other delights while filling our hearts with joyful love.

Mom passed away peacefully, in a room ringing with silly stories & laughter – her family by her side. At her request, no formal service will be held.
