Patricia Osbourne Williams

Pat was born in England in 1917 and at the age of 2 1/2 came to the Comox Valley with her parents. She attended school in Tsolum, Normal School in Victoria, and taught grades 1-8 at Comox Lake for 2 years. She then moved to Vancouver where she met and married James (Buck) Williams (deceased 1954) and lived for many years working, gardening and caring for her pets.

In her later years, Pat and her companion, Alex Stables, bought a mini farm in Langley. Their love of horses took them to another farm on Salmon River Road. It was a happy time, sadly ending with Alex’s sudden death.

Pat moved into Falkland in 1992. For a number of years she helped with the News Sheet and was a member of the Community Association. She and her good friend, Dorothy McLean sold programs for the Falkland Stampede for many years.

Pat died peacefully on Jan. 24, 2013. She was predeceased by her companion, Alex Stables in 1992 and her brother John C. Holmes in 2011.

She is survived by her niece, Glenda (Dave) Mosher of Royston, her sister-in-law, Jackie Holmes of Comox, and cousins in England and Australia.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. J.A. DeBeer and the staff of Noric House (Alpine Unit) for their care and compassion.

At Pat’s request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation is entrusted to Mountain View Funeral Home in Armstrong. Donation to the Community Association in Falkland in Pat’s memory would be appreciated.
