Patrick Darren 'Rick' Dalziel

In Loving Memory ~
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our beloved, Rick, due to an undiagnosed heart condition.
When he passed, he and his wife, Monica, were loving life after retirement on their annual snowbird adventure — traveling between Vernon, Palm Springs and South Texas in their motorhome.
We are thankful that he did not suffer, instead drifting away, looking up through the fronds of the palm trees at the bright, beautiful Palm Springs sky. He was surrounded by dear friends who loved and cared greatly for him.
Born in Vernon, BC, to Robert & Elma Dalziel. His childhood was filled with endless antics and escapades with his older brother, Steve and their close pals. It was equally filled with scrapes, bruises and many bandages applied lovingly by his two adoring sisters, Robyn and Sherry.
Hot Okanagan summers were spent creating countless memories with water sports, boating, campfires & beer at the Dalziel family cabin.
Rick remained in the Okanagan, becoming a skilled Aircraft Engineer, Pilot, gifted equipment operator, and a supervisor in civil development. Rick found joy in meticulously researching "How-To's" and hunting down the best deal. He loved to find salvaged vehicles and give them new life.
Rick had a love for anything with a motor — from muscle cars and motorcycles to airplanes and boats. He was considered a "Jack of all Trades..." and "A Master of ALL." This natural ability was consistent for everything he tried — skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, golfing, and more.
Rick will be deeply missed and closely cherished by his loving wife of 34 years, Monica; son Cody, of whom he was immensely proud; grandson Noah, whom he loved to tease and roughhouse with; "Mummy" Elma; brother Steve (Rhonda); sisters Sherry (David), and Robyn; and Aunt Nancy.
Monica's family is grieving with the Dalziels; her sister Sandy (Dale) Whittaker; brothers Bill Dennis, Richard (Bonny) Dennis, Rob Dennis; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews with whom he spent quality time.
Rick was predeceased by his father, Robert Dalziel; paternal and maternal grandparents, Edward & Gladys Dalziel and Frederick & Gladys Hughes; uncle Raymond Hughes; and his most adored dog Puppy Boy.
We invite our family and friends to join us in honoring Rick at a celebration of life on Friday, April 21st, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Paddlewheel Park Hall, located at 7813 Okanagan Landing Rd, Vernon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
