Patrick James (Pat) Wadey passed away suddenly at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Sunday, October 16th, 2005 at the age of 49 years. A funeral service was held from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Revelstoke on Friday morning, October 21st with Reverend Harold Bates officiating. Pallbearers were: Matt Callaghan, Dave Mohn, Robert Mohr, Norm Tennant, Ken Gibson, Gerald Hills, Kurt Huettmeyer and Brad Faucett. Cremation followed the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an Educational Trust Fund for Pat’s sons Alex and Chris at the Revelstoke Credit Union.
Pat was born in Castlegar on June 9, 1956 and raised there. He completed his degree in Forestry at U.B.C. and had worked for the B.C. Forest Service for 25 years in Nelson, Vancouver, Port McNeill, Fort St. John and Revelstoke. Pat loved working in forestry and made many life-long friends in the forestry world. He was an ardent skier and loved coaching his Nancy Greene kids. The kids could follow his wonderful laugh down the hill. Pat also coached minor soccer for several years. He loved fishing and boating with his boys.
Pat was predeceased by his parents Robert and Ann Wadey of Castlegar. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Barbara (nee Paul) and sons Alexander and Christopher, all of Revelstoke; brother Robert George (Brenda) Wadey and their children Robyn and Brendan; in-laws, Frank & Mary Paul of Vernon and their family; aunts May Burroughs and Susie Wapple as well as several cousins. Pat will be sorely missed by all his friends and family.
