January 1, 1931 - November 11, 2020
On Remembrance Day, our dear Husband, Dad and Opa passed peacefully in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital, into the arms of Jesus. Paul was born in Huta Chodecka, Poland. In 1953 he emigrated to Canada and came immediately to Vernon, B.C. He was forever thankful and often said, "This country is the best in the world!"
Paul is survived by his wife of 63.5 years, Anne; daughter, Debbie (Keith) Breitkreutz; sons, Rick and Randy; six grandchildren, Kelsey (Brayden) McMorran, Shelby, Levi, Dustin, Ryan (Jordan) and Amy Breitkreutz; one great-granddaughter, Rosie; sister, Helen and many extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edmund and Martha; four siblings, Irma, Richard, Edward and Alex; and two daughters-in-law, Shirley and Wendy.
In his working years Paul worked as a cement finisher for Sasges Cement and Gustavus Construction. He had a reputation for being a 'true craftsman in his trade.'
He had a strong love of his family. Paul had a solid faith and was an active, life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He loved the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting. Paul was also a devoted NHL hockey fan and he loved to play cards......and he played to win!
Due to COVID-19, a small private service will be held at a future date. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Paul can be made to the North Okanagan Gleaners Society, 4405-29th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 5B7 or to St. John's Lutheran Church (Memorial Fund), 5151 Alain Road, Vernon, B.C. V1B 3K6.
'Rest in peace, until we meet again.'
Funeral arrangements were made with Bethel Funeral Chapel Ltd.,
