We regret to announce the passing of Paul Quesnel on November 4, 2004, in Vernon. Paul was born on October 11, 1946 in Sudbury, Ontario. He left Sudbury in 1974 and drove west until he found “God’s Country” in Vernon, where he lived and enjoyed the remainder of his life. Dear son of Raoul (predeceased in 1992) and Jeannine Quesnel (nee Paiement) of Sudbury; dear brother to Madeleine (husband Frank) of Sudbury, Raymond (wife Pauline) of Val Caron, Ont., Denise of Barrie, Ont., and Robert (wife Nicole) of Hanmer, Ont. He was dear uncle to Chris, Julie, Lise, Rachel, Renee-Claude, and Charles, and great-uncle to Marissa and Juliana. Dear loving friend of Diane Jasper and dear best friend to Ian Houchin. Paul was a long time employee of the City of Vernon, having worked for Parks and Recreation Services for over 29 years. He will be remembered by staff and throughout the community for the energy and passion he had for his work. As a sportsman, Paul had a love for playing the game of basketball, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Shuswap Lake. Paul was a very private person, and at his request there will be no public visitation or funeral. His ashes will be buried next to his father in Sudbury. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Vernon Funeral Home (542-1055).
