With heavy hearts we announce Pearl’s passing on April 27, 2017 at the age of 83 years. While we struggle greatly with the sudden loss, we are truly comforted in the knowledge she lived an active life in a way that set a wonderful example for her family and those around her. Her trademark smile and quick laugh always brightened the room.

She is survived by her loving sons Jeff (Marlene) Quibell of Vernon, Murray (Shannon) Quibell of Calgary, her four grandchildren Jared, Logan, Shayna, and Daniel, brother Arthur (Jocelyn) and sister Olive (Neil). Pearl was predeceased by her husband Don in 2002, and sister Lorraine and brother Maurice.

Pearl was born in Melfort, SK and grew up in several small communities in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. As a young woman she moved to Winnipeg where she met Don and where they married in 1960. Don’s career with Imperial Oil brought Pearl and her family to several postings in Alberta. After retiring, Pearl and Don made Vernon their home, where Pearl has lived for 27 years.

Pearl will be missed in so many ways. Among them she will be missed at Trinity United Church where she was a long-time choir member, at Lincoln Lanes as an ardent bowler, and in Section Q as a loyal Vernon Vipers fan.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Trinity United Church on Monday May 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations to a charity of choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, Phone: 250-542-4333. Condolences may be offered at www.pleasantvalleyfh.com
