PEARL HRUSCHAK passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15th, 2005 at Polson Multi-Level Unit with her family by her side, at the age of 89 years. She was born on June 13th, 1915 at Smoky Lake, Alberta. She married Alex there in 1937. Alex, Pearl and their two daughters moved to Vernon in 1945. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters: Sylvia (Eugene) Michaluk and Deanna (Steve) Novak, her grandchildren: Laureen (Richard) Finn of Vernon, B.C., Kathleen (Serge) Vidalis of Victoria, B.C., Michael (Lisa) Novak of Vancouver, B.C. and Jennifer Novak of Vancouver, B.C., her great-grandchildren: Michael, Marcus, Michaela, Sarah and Jada, her sisters: Mary Romanchuk of Edmonton, Alberta and Janice Burroughs of Nimpoma, California and numerous nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law. Pearl was predeceased by her first husband, Alex in 1967, her second husband, John Zahary in 1977 and a long time companion, Frank Rogess in 1998. Pearl was a caring and loving mother and grandmother (Grams). She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her quiet sense of humor and her wonderful smile. She was an avid dancer and a member of the Beaus & Bells for many years. She volunteered at the Canadian Red Cross and the Vernon Winter Carnival and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #25 Ladies Auxiliary for over 25 years. A Celebration of Pearl’s Life will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 24th, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Pearl to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Assoc..
