Sicamous resident, Pearl Minnie Bertha Jones, nee Rahn, passed away at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, on Monday, January 6, 2003, at seventy-eight years of age. Pearl will be lovingly remembered by son Bob (Cathy) of Erinsville, Ontario; daughters Betty-Anne (Arnie) Gardner of Comox and Bonny-Lee (Gordon) Wright of Sicamous; brothers Carl (Margreta) Rahn of Armstrong and Richard (Sydney) Rahn of Kelowna; sisters Minnie (Emil) Haenschke of Kelowna, Bertha Gillick of Vernon, Margaret Anne (Jim) McKenzie of Vernon; sisters-in-law Eleanor (John) Sinclair of Princeton and Pauline Jones of Chase; grandchildren Jennifer (Marc), Ryan, Quentin, Shelby, Ashley, Jasmin, Tamara; great-grandson Kyler. Predeceased by husband Gordon in 1993, son Bill in 1978 and sister Anna in 2002. Born at Talbot, Alberta on October 30, 1924, to parents Richard and Leatha Rahn. At age 10, Pearl moved to Armstrong with her family, attending school at the Brick School. Pearl and Gordon were married at Armstrong in 1945, they lived in Lumby, Penny, Quesnel, and in 1953 moved to Sicamous. She and Gordon spent many happy times traveling to the Yukon and Reno. Active in the community, she enjoyed cards, knitting, quilting and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Donations in memory of Pearl may be made to the Cancer Fund or Heart and Stroke. Funeral Service was held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2003, at the Sicamous United Church. Reverend Fred Duck officiated. Cremation to follow service.
