Pearl Witter

Pearl Witter (nee Chesterfield) was born on November 10th, 1913 in Vernon, B.C. and passed away peacefully at home on June 17th, 2010 at the age of 96 years.

Pearl spent her entire life in Vernon, the only town she ever wanted to call home. She married Harold Witter on January 27th, 1942 and had two beautiful children, Howard (Linda) Witter and Patricia (Zane) Blackmore. Pearl is the beloved grandmother of Christian (Emma), Shelley (Don), Sean, Shilleen (Mike), Tiffany (Teran) and Matthew; great grandmother of Sarah, Natalya, Gerahd, Eryn, Stefan, Mikaela, Hadeon, Benjamin, Ayva, Alexandra, Elly and Samuel; as well as aunt to several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; an infant brother, Earl; an infant sister, Ruby; her sister and brother-in-law, Ruby & David Buick; and one half-sister, Ruth Johnson.

Pearl found joy in gardening, baking cakes, dedicating her life to serving others, had a great will to live, and loved being with her family. When asked what her greatest accomplishment in life has been, she replied with great = happiness, “my grandchildren.” She will be remembered for her zest for life, stamina and love that she emanated to all. The last four years were toiling on her body as she tried to withstand the debilitating effects of numerous strokes.

She is now free at last! We will love, miss and honor her forever.

The Funeral Service will be held at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, 1506-35th Street, on Saturday, June 26th, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. with interment following in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
