Percy Main

We regret to announce the death at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on March 7, 2003, of PERCY WALTER MAIN, at the age of 82 years. Percy was a resident of the Vernon area since 1946. He was very active in community life in the area; including church, local organizations, and especially sports. Percy was a boxer and a ballplayer in his youth, and was a boxing ringjudge in later years. He was extremely active with minor baseball and also with senior baseball for most of his life. Percy was predeceased by a grandson, Jayson Main, and by several siblings. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 63 years, Frances; sons Don (Joanne) and Reg (Gail), six grandsons, and two granddaughters, seven great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Percy is also survived by brother Cliff (Yoli), and sisters Evelyn, Marion, Laura and Dorothy, and numerous extended family members. A Celebrations of Life Service will be held at Vernon Alliance Church on Wednesday, March 26, at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Henry Friesen officiating. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Percy to the Alzheimer Society of B.C., #20-601 W. Cordova St., Vancouver, V6B 1G1.
