Peter John Lavoie


We regret to announce the death at the Gateby on January 24, 2006, of Peter John Lavoie, at the age of 86 years. Peter was a longtime resident of Meadow Lake, Sask., prior to moving to Penticton, and subsequently to Vernon four years ago. He was a veteran, serving during the Second World War in the Canadian Army. After retirement, Peter took up golf, and managed a hole in one on eight separate occasions. He was predeceased by his brothers: Aimee and Claude. Peter will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Laurette; sons: Roger (Sharon) of Tappen and Denis in California, and daughter, Marlene Sterling of Regina; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister, Reine Lessard of North Battleford and sisters-in-law: Alma Lavoie in Terrace and Leona Lavoie in Masset, B.C. as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Cremation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Jame’s Roman Catholic Church in Vernon on Saturday, January 28, at 10:00 A.M., with the Reverend Father Kenneth Anoruo, celebrant.
