Peter Joseph Snyder passed away peacefully at his home in Vernon, BC on May 23, 2009. Irma, his wife of over 50 years, was at his side.
Peter was born in Graz, Austria on August 8th, 1915 and lived a full and robust life. Throughout the good times and the challenges, he maintained an uncanny ability to adapt to whatever situation or reality he faced. Peter often quipped, “Just try to remember the good times…” and at one point during his last days he commented, “Don’t worry about me – this is not so bad – it could be a lot worse….”
Peter also leaves behind his daughter Karen,
son in-law Steve and grandchildren Stephanie and Joseph. They will endeavor to carry forward Peter’s love of tennis and skiing, as well as his zest for good food, good wine and good friends. Prost Peter!
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the care givers who made Peter’s last days comfortable and a particular thank you to
Dr. Larrie Mandreck for his efforts, attention and love for Peter. Details regarding a celebration of Peter’s life are to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you give yourself a day of skiing next season.
