Jan 13, 1934 - Apr 22, 2018
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, Peter Nikon, from Falkland, B.C.

Peter was born to Pawel and Paranka (Stupin) Nikon on January 13th, 1934 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He was a twin to John and younger brother to Mike. A brother, Bill and sister, Olive later completed the brood.

Peter moved to Kelowna B.C. at the age of 15 to reunite with his family after staying behind to work. He found various labor jobs and quickly worked his way to Foreman on many projects.

In 1959, Peter married Frances Chocholacek and the adventures began. They found themselves travelling to northern B.C. where Peter worked construction jobs on several projects. He was the Foreman on Portage Mountain Dam, later named WAC Bennett Dam. By this time, they had four children: Bill, Anne, Polly and Sandy who was born at home where he often boasted that he was the Doctor!

The Kelowna floating bridge project brought the family back to the Okanagan Valley. Upon completion of the bridge, they bought the Eagle Rock Motel and settled in Armstrong, B.C.

Peter's greatest pride was his family. His ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were his and Fran's source of joy and entertainment.

Peter was predeceased by Fran in 2015. He was lost without her but joined her for one last dance on the eve of what would have been her 80th birthday - on April 22nd, 2018.

As with Fran, Peter was cremated and there will be no Funeral Service held.

Cremation arrangements were made with BETHEL FUNERAL CHAPEL LTD., 5605-27th Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 8Z5, 250-542-1187.
