Peter Olaf Palm passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on September 17, 2004 at the age of 81 years. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Meritt, 3 brothers Edwin, Hans and Albin, 2 sisters Dorothy and Signe. Survived by his loving wife Joan (Schley), 8 children; Ted Palm (Carol) of Smithers, B.C., Bonnie Watson (Sandy) of Quesnel, B.C. Dave Palm (Tammy), Shirley Reichelt (James), and Arlene Redman (Randy) all of Vernon, Alanna Lockwood (Neil) of Alberta, Connie Palm (Gordon) of Vernon, Melody Recsky (Dean) of Surrey, B.C. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, Kevin, Scott, Jennifer, Michael, Crystal, Jason, Stephannie, Christina, Rebecca, MacKenzie, Whitney, Katelin, Lori, Kim, Melissa, Frisco, Chris, Dryden, and Trase, 5 great-grandchildren, Sydney, Victoria, Emery, Cameron and Bryson, special brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nephews and nieces. Peter was born December 20, 1922 in Norway and lived for many years in Camrose, AB. He was called into the Army for WWII at the age of 20 and served for 3 years. He started working at NOCA Dairy in July, 1946 and retired in December 1983. Peter loved his salmon fishing and his hunting, and loved his coffee at the mall every day at 10:00 AM. He had such love for his beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service for Peter will be held Friday, September 24, 2004 at 1:00 PM from Peace Lutheran Church, 1204 30th Ave., Vernon, B.C,, with Rev. Tim LeDrew officiating. Immediately following service, inurnment will take place at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Peace Lutheran Church hall. If friends so desire, donations in Peter’s memory may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME 542-0155.
