We regret to announce the death at Hospice House in Vernon on April 13, 2010 of Peter Simmer, at the age of 88 years. Peter was born in Fort William, Ontario, moving to BC after serving in the Canadian Armed Forces during World War Two. He was a longtime resident of the Prince Rupert area, where he was a professional faller for many years. He retired to Vernon and loved being a resident of Kiwanis Village for 25 years.
Peter will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his nine children: Barbara (Paul), Charmaine (Helmut), David John, Peter, Ken, Julie (Larry), Kathleen, Christine (Randy), and Maureen (Bruce); 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. At his request, there will be no formal services held. Friends wishing to do so may make donations in Peter’s memory to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506 – 27 Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4.
