Polly Nakucyj (nee Kowalchuk)

October 27, 1932 - February 1, 2021
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, baba, sister, auntie Polly and friend. Mom has gone to heaven with her husband (Russell), son (Michael) and 5 siblings.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter Kathy (Dave), son Billy (Rose), daughter in law Marilyn, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Brother Peter, sister Irene and many nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank the nurses from 2 West and Hospice House for their loving care. Thanks to the residents at Sunny Vale Apartments for their kindness. A special thank you to Uncle Peter and granddaughter Theressa for "always" being there for mom, she truly appreciated it and loved you both.
Mom was born in Lavington and lived in the area most of her life. Mom was a mom to all who needed one, always saw the best in others and taught many of us the "important" lessons in life. Mom and Dad will always be remembered for Xmas eves get togethers. Where mom made endless roasters of perogies and thin beautifully decorated sugar cookies.
Mom worked various jobs throughout her life, most of them she took over from Irene, who was like a daughter to her. Mom loved the blue hills of Lavington, gardening, baking, her books, feeding the birds, kitties, fresh homemade perogies and most of all her family.
Mom was like the glue of the family and had a special connection to all. We will miss you dearly, till we meet again we will treasure our memories of you.
We will be having a Celebration of Life for Polly Nakucyj on Friday, July 1st @ 3PM at the Army & Navy Veterans Club, 2500 - 46th Ave. Vernon, BC.
