October 15, 1933 - March 24, 2019
It is with deep sorrow that we say goodbye to our wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Rachel was born to Edgar and Jennie Riggins on October 15th, 1933 in Leo, Alberta and passed away on March 24th, 2019 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 85 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Arnold, to whom she was married for 66 years, her 2 sons; Gary (Donna) of Edgewood, B.C. and Glen (Tammy) of Vernon, B.C., her 2 daughters; Valerie Kraft (Murray) of Burstall, Saskatchewan and Brenda Eckert of Medicine Hat, Alberta, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, her sister; Verna Riggins of Naniamo, B.C. along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Rachel was predeceased by her parents; Edgar and Jennie Riggins, her brother; Clyde and by her sisters; Irene Reeves and Bernice Everett.
We all miss her unconditional love and tireless devotion to her husband and her family. Her warm heart, open door and home baking to all who wished to come by her home will be greatly missed and cherished. Rachel's strong faith in God was evident in every aspect of her life which she held so dear.
Cremation preceded a Celebration of Rachel's life which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019 at 1 pm with Pastor Little officiating. Interment of Rachel's cremated remains in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery along with a Reception in the Bethel Tea Room will follow the service.
