December 1, 1934 - June 18, 2021
Rae Francis Humeston was born on December 1st, 1934 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and it is with great sadness that we announce his sudden passing on June 18th, 2021 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 86 years.
Rae will be lovingly remembered by his wife Maralyn to whom he was married for 36 years; two daughters, Lori (Philip) and Valerie (Jim); one son, Chris (Deena); five grandchildren, Skylar, Serina (Ian), Dylan, Noah and Olivia; two great-grandchildren, Lia and Sam; his two special every day coffee buddies, Francis and Leigh; and many friends.
Rae worked for Telus until he retired in Victoria and moved to Vernon. He was an active member of the Masonic Order for over 50 years.
Rae's children have these memories of their Dad. "I think like most kids, we hoped that our Dad would live forever but that was just not to be. He lived a good life and didn't let the small things like ongoing health issues and a global pandemic stop him from doing what was important to him. Dad was always on the go and enjoyed lunches out with our Mom, traveling around the countryside with his buddies and taking the time to play many good rounds of cards with us all. We love you Dad and will miss you dearly."
In respecting Rae's wishes, he was cremated and there will be no service held at this time. He will be taken to Carberry, Manitoba at a future date and laid to rest in the family plot. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Rae to the charity of your choice.
