Randy was born in Vancouver, BC on March 13, 1955, raised in Richmond and spent most of his adult life in the Okanagan. He lived life to the fullest enjoying water and snow skiing, golf, boating, having a VERY good time at everything he did.
Randy passed away in Vancouver Hospital ICU surrounded by his girls. He was predeceased by his father Jim, his brother William Michael Waddington and is survived by his mother Sheila, his partner Marcia Smith, his sisters Alicia Polanski (Tim) and Michele Waddington, his niece Rhyanon Ferguson, nephews Rhys Ferguson and Matthew Pirozek. He had a large extended group of brothers by choice and so many friends there was a trail in ICU. Randy will live on in memories and stories for generations. He will be missed.
In lieu of flowers donations to the B.C. Transplant Society, VGH ICU or Vernon Jubilee Hospital would be appreciated. All the care Randy received in these facilities was extraordinary, but special thanks must go to Dr. Brian Chai and Dr. Naomi Chessex. The fight was long; it was hard, rest in peace.
A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held at Paddle Wheel Park, 7813 Okanagan Landing Road, Vernon on Monday, May 24 at 1:00 p.m.
