MR. RAYMOND CARL (RAY) EDWARDS passed away peacefully in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Wednesday, February 11th, 2004 and went to join his brother, Ken who had passed away on October 6th, 2002. Ray was born in Vernon, B. C. on February 20th, 1985 and both he and his brother, Ken fought a long and courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Ray will be lovingly remembered by his mother and step-father, Sandra & Blair Downie of Vernon, B.C., his father and step-mother, Wayne & Wendy Edwards of Cherryville, B.C., his brother, David of Vernon, B.C., his step-brothers, Saul, Ryan and Ruben, all of Vernon, B.C., his maternal grandparents, Karsten & Vera Jensen of Salmon Arm, B.C., his maternal great-grandmother, Joan Whitehead of Eagle Bay, B.C. and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, David & Marion Edwards. Ray received his Elementary School education at both West Vernon Elementary and Okanagan Landing Elementary Schools and his High School education at Clarence Fulton Secondary School. He was known for his unique sense of humor and his mischievous nature. Cremation preceded the Celebration Of Ray’s Life which will be held at Trinity United Church on Tuesday, February 17th, 2004 at 4:00 P.M. with Mr. Blair Odney officiating. Waida, the nurses and staff of B.C. Children’s Hospital for their care and support over the past many years and the nurses and staff of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital for the loving care they gave Ray during his final days.
