RYPKEMA
We regret to announce the passing of REGINA CECILIA RYPKEMA (nee Brattinga) on Thursday, May 29th in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 78 years. Gina was born on November 11, 1924 in St. Nicolaasga (Frl.) Holland. She immigrated to Canada in 1952 with her husband and infant daughter and settled in Salmon Arm. The family moved to Armstrong in 1959 and then to Vernon in 1994. She is survived by her husband Sjeeuwke (George) to whom she was married for 53 years. She leaves to mourn her, one daughter, Petra Holmberg of Vernon, three sons, Meindert (Donna) of Armstrong, George (Sue) of Sicamous, and John of Vernon. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Darcy, Travis, Ryan, Sabrina and Michelle. She is further survived by three sisters and their families in Holland as well as many nieces and nephews here and abroad. The family wishes to thank her dear friend Lorainne for bringing so much happiness to her in later years. At Gina's request there will be no public funeral service.
