REGINALD (Reg) NELSON of Kelowna, passed away on Friday, October 10th, 2003 at the age of 96 years. Predeceased by his wife Winifred in July 2002. Reg is survived by his daughter Vera (Tony) Senger. Four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren: Diane (Rick) Barber and their three sons Jeffrey, Gregory and Michael; Tony (Jennifer) Senger and their daughters Kristina and Kayla and son Cole; Karen (Randy) Jones and their son Tyler; Douglas (Laurone) Senger and their daughters Chantelle and Aleisha. Reg lived in Vernon from 1911 to 1943. In 1944 Reg, Win and Vera moved to Kelowna, where he worked at the B.C. Tree Fruits as an accountant. In 1957 he became manager of the Underhill Clinic and in 1959 became President of the Clinic Managers Association. In 1982 Reg was awarded a life membership. Reg was an active member of the Lions Club since 1945 receiving many awards including a life membership. Reg loved to play the piano and volunteered to play at nursing homes up to this year even though he was 96 himself. He also enjoyed painting, travelling, fishing and playing cards. He was loved and respected by his family and all who knew him. Funeral Service will be held from the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave. on Friday, October 17th, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of the Canadian Cancer Fund in memory of Reg.
