It's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of an amazing Husband, Father, Grandfather, Mentor and Friend.
Rene Adolphe Joseph Briere passed away August 11 , 2020 after a courageous battle with Cancer, at home with his wife of 54 years by his side.
Rene's life's work took him from Haney BC to Lumby, Malakwa, Vancouver Island, Squamish and then finally retiring in Vernon BC.
Rene had a passion for carpentry and wood working and built many homes, garages, decks, sheds and furniture along his journey. Rene was always willing to give a helping hand when ever asked, he was known as the handyman of the Hood.
Fishing became his passion while living in Tahsis BC, spending many days taking family and friends on amazing salmon fishing trips.
Monte Lake became his go to spot and Gretchen and he called it their summer home for the past 3 years.
Born April 24,1943 in McLennan Alt, Rene was predeceased by his father Adelard and his mother Jeanne. Rene is survived by his wife Gretchen, sisters Irene (Glenn) and Lorraine (Bill). His son Rick (Tracy) and daughter Michelle (Scott). Grandsons Brandon and Jordan, Granddaughter's Abbey, Kyla and Hannah.
