Richard Albert Short was born on April 12th, 1942 in Calgary, Alberta and passed away suddenly at his residence in Vernon, B.C. on November 21st, 2010 at the age of 68 years.
Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife Linda, to whom he was married for 44 years; his son, Brian (Kitty) of Kamloops, B.C.; his daughter, Kim (Rick) Anderson of Vernon, B.C.; seven grandchildren, Ben (Rachel), Calvin, Phenix, Zachary, Violet, Kahlen and Taija; two great-grandchildren, Damya and Marie; one brother, Robbie of Vancouver, B.C.; one sister, Shirley (Ray) Sampert of Vernon, B.C.; his canine companion, Mikala; and numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert & Elsie and one infant daughter, Pamela.
Richard loved roller skating, fishing, archery and cooking. His famous lemon crepes were always in great demand whenever he made them. Richard’s family were very important to him and he loved to spend time holding and snuggling his children and grandchildren close to him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Cremation preceded a Celebration Of Richard’s Life which will be held at the Army, Navy & Airforce Veterans Hall, 2500-46th Avenue, on Thursday, December 2nd, 2010 at 1:30 P.M.
