Richard Hugh Cox

We regret to announce the passing of Richard Hugh Cox, age 66, on November 8, 2018 at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

A celebration of life will begin at 2:00 pm, November 19th, 2018 at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the tea room.

Richard was born in Vernon to Ken and Margaret Cox (Wright) on October 14th, 1952. He married Wendy Gifford on April 5th, 2003 in New Westminster.

Richard had many careers throughout his life and worked most recently as a Client Support Worker and Counselor. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast, spending much of his free time fishing, hunting and growing his award-winning sunflowers. He was very talented as an artist, bow craftsman, and neighborhood handyman.

Richard was very passionate about helping people; touching the lives of many, helping them through difficult times and by being an encouraging influence with an ever-present bright smile and sense of humor.

Richard is survived by his wife Wendy Cox (Gifford), his children: Raegan, Abby, Joshua and Danielle; his siblings: Norm, Pat, Dennis, Ken and Penny; and his mother Margaret Pelle (Wright).

The family of Richard Cox wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Dreyer and all of the nurses and doctors at Vernon Jubilee Hospital who showed him love, compassion, respect and tenderness in his final days.
