It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Richard James Mulvaney on December 23rd, 2016 in Vernon, B.C. Richard was born on August 1, 1946 in Vancouver B.C. and en-joyed life in various BC communities with their offerings of hills to hike and trails to trek. An avid motorcyclist and body builder, keen musician and musicologist, caricaturist and creative comic, Richard and his caring ways will be missed by many. He helped us smile. Richard is survived by his daughter Caitlin (and family, Lance, Tyler & Jayden), siblings Deirdre (Alistair) Stekelenburg, John (Kate), Patricia (Moe) Jessen, nieces and nephews, Lisa, Jason, Patrick, Daniel, Kristina and Teresa, cousins in Seattle, Vancouver and Australia and friends from North Vancouver to Prince George. Richard was predeceased by his parents Jim and Marjorie Mulvaney. Many thanks to the staff at Creekside Landing and Vernon Jubilee Hospital - 7th Floor for their compassion and care. A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in memory of Richard to the Parkinson Society British Columbia http://www.parkinson.bc.ca. Condolences may be offered at Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services https://www.myalternatives.ca/vernon
