Richard Allan Ramsey, aged 74 years, passed away at Vernon on Sunday, August 31, 2008.
Born at Duncan, Dick moved to Armstrong in the mid 1940’s and has resided there since. He will
be lovingly remembered by his six children – Marilyn (Lud) Brzostowski of Armstrong, Jim Ramsey
of Armstrong, Pat Pohl of Sydney, Nova Scotia, Dave (Teresa) Ramsey of Armstrong, Elaine (Bruce)
Callander of Calgary and Bob (Karen) Ramsey of Vernon; nineteen grandchildren; three great
grandchildren; Rose Ramsey and Mabel Louttit both of Armstrong; ten siblings Edward “Bud”
(Shirley) Ramsey of Ontario, Peggy Poirier of Merritt, Fred Ramsey of Duncan, Don (Fay) Ramsey
of Vernon, Ken (Micheline) Ramsey of Quebec, Bill (Judi) Ramsey of Langley, Isobel Burbridge of
Edmonton, Noreen (Brian) Russell of Campbell River and Len (Heather) Ramsey of Armstrong;
Aunt Vera Moore of Armstrong; extended family and many friends. Predeceased by parents
Edward and Barbara Ramsey. Dick worked for 36 years at Buckerfi elds. After retiring, Dick kept
himself busy with various jobs. He was a dedicated family man and loved all sports especially
hockey. This passion he passed on to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He
looked forward to Fridays when he spent the day preparing for his Friday Wine Night. He also
enjoyed the morning coffee group at the A & W. Dick was very active in the community. He
volunteered much of his time organizing and cooking for various community events and working
at the Kinsmen Beer Gardens at the I.P.E. for many years. He will be sadly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2008 at the Armstrong Bible
Chapel, Armstrong. Reverend Cory Rundell offi ciating.
