Richard Albert Reith

Richard Albert Reith passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital July 20, 2007. Born Sept. 19,1922 in Kelowna to George and Mary Reith. He grew up in Rutland, joining the RCAF in Sept. 1941. He was a Halifax Bomber Pilot, flying 23 missions before VE Day in 1945. Returning to Canada, he worked for CIMCO Canada Ltd. as a refrigeration engineer transferring across Canada and back before his retirement. Predeceased by his parents George and Mary Reith and his first wife Kay. Survived by his daughters, Lynda Reith of Vernon, Barbara Koeneke (Virg), granddaughters Melanie Koeneke, Melissa Davis (Chris) and great-grandson Lucas Davis all of Denver, Colorado, his second wife Lydia, three step children and four grandsons. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 27, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home. Reception to follow in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room.
