Ridia was predeceased by her parents Rudolph and Emma, husband Edgar (2018) and sister Clara (1993).
Ridia was raised on the family orchard in Vernon along with her two sisters. She graduated from V.S.S. in 1956 and thoroughly enjoyed herself at her 50th High School reunion in 2006. Immediately after graduation she headed to UVIC and obtained her teaching degree in 1958.
Ridia then moved to White Rock and taught at Halls Prairie, Sunnyside Elementary and Mrs. Wicherly's Mother Goose. It was at this time she met Edgar and they married on December 26, 1960.
Ridia is survived by her children Laurie Lange, Brian (Corrie) Wiens, beloved grandchildren Melanie (Jordan) Lovsin, Kurtis Lange and son-in-law Gary Lange, devoted and much loved sister Esther (Floyd) Smith, brother-in-law Mano (Helen) Wiens and her faithful canine companion Mia.
Ridia's greatest wish was to remain in her home in Vernon until her passing. This was made possible by Brian and Corrie, sister Esther and Connie and Stephen Burt.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pritchitt, Cynthia and Karen (Team 4), Dr. Clelland, Dr. Hearn, Dr.
Germaine and her team at the Kelowna Cancer Clinic for their continual support throughout her journey.
A private family service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church October 2, 2021 at 1:30 pm. Pastor David Hunter Officiating. The service can be viewed through Peace Lutheran Congregation Vernon BC Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers Ridia's wish is for a personal gift of kindness to be paid forward.
