It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rika Van Riemsdyk (Van Zutphen) in her 85th year at the Vernon Hospice June 3, 2017 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband of 44 years Albert she leaves behind her brother Jerry Van Zutphen (Brenda) and 4 loving children James, Mikel (Mary Jane), Mark (Sharon) all of the Ottawa area and Elizabeth in Richmond BC. Also left to mourn are her 6 grandchildren Kyle, Cody, Kristen, Jeffery and Nick of Ottawa and Amanda of Vernon BC and one great grandchild, Scarlett of Ottawa. She also leaves behind many close friends who were often at her side offering support and compassion throughout her battle. She was a great mother and role model who will be missed by many and all that knew her.
