Rita Elizabeth Taylor

Rita Elizabeth Taylor passed away peacefully at

Vernon on June 3, 2008. Predeceased by husband

John Walter Taylor, son Lance Wayne Taylor and

granddaughter Susan Elizabeth Taylor, Rita will

be sadly missed by four daughters Bett y Marion

of Vernon, Patt y (Tom) Sheldon of Vernon, Peggy

(John) Hall of Penticton and Faye (Bill Haworth

of Vernon; two sons John Robert (Judy) Taylor

of Pickering, On. and Mark (Maria) Taylor of

Vernon; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-two great

grandchildren; brother George (Doris) Allard of

Winnipeg; numerous nieces, nephews and fr iends.

Rita was born on November 19, 1921, at Th e Pas,

Manitoba. She moved to BC and lived in various

communities before sett ling in Vernon fi ft y-fi ve years

ago. Rita was active in the business community

when she and husband Jack owned Taylor Service

and Repair. Her interests included cards, bingo,

square dancing, music and travel. Family was also

very important to Rita and she was greatly loved by

her children and extended family.

Prayers will be held 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June

10. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m.,

Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at St. James Catholic

Church, Vernon. Father Martin Peyton, Celebrant.

Tea to follow at Schubert Centre. Donations in

memory of Rita may be made to Vernon Hospice

Society, 3506-27 Ave., Vernon, V1T 1S4. Th e

family would like to thank Dr. J. Bernard and the
