Rita Kerr-Nielsen

Rita KERR – NIELSEN was born on September 29th, 1917 in Toronto, Ontario and passed away peacefully at her residence in Vernon, B.C. on September 27th, 2008, just two days prior to her 91st birthday.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Richard Kerr of Terrace, B.C.; four grandchildren, Chris Kerr of Grand Forks, B.C., Greg Kerr of Terrace, B.C., Teresa (Greg) Olson of Vancouver, B.C. and Laurie Lefebvre (Mike) of Port Coquitlam, B.C.; six great-grandchildren, Luckas, Alexandria, Allison, Ava, Kendra and Jessica; her very close friends, Diana Adams of Terrace, B.C. and Jane Cropley of Vernon, B.C.; and numerous extended family members. Rita was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Kerr on February 14th, 1987 and her second husband, Jens Nielsen on January 29th, 2005.

Rita was a member of the Scouting family in Terrace for about five years, was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club in the 1970’s and was a real supporter of Human Rights.

Cremation preceded the Funeral Service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church on Saturday, October 4th, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with The Reverend Canon Peter Davison officiating.

As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations in memory of Rita to the charity of their choice.

Rita’s family wish to extend special thanks to Interior Health for the wonderful care and concern they gave to Rita in her final days.
