JAMISSEN

JAMISSEN, RIUN, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2006, in Moog & Friends Hospice House in Penticton, BC, at the age of 85 years. Riun was born in Vancouver, BC on May 15, 1921, son to Rhynd and Margurite. Riun married Dorothy Phillips in Vancouver on the 26th of August 1955, with whom he shared an amazing love during their more than 51 wonderful years together. Riun’s career included working with numerous radio stations during a span of more than 20 years, followed by more than 25 years spent with the Hudson Bay Company, from which he retired in 1985. In 1989 the Jamissens relocated to Keremeos, where Riun has continued to enjoy his passion for ‘music’ and his love of gardening. He has been a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years. Riun will be deeply and lovingly missed by his wife, Dorothy of Keremeos, BC, son, Steven and his wife Teresa of Vernon, BC, and their children, Charles Barton and Naomi Pollard, another granddaughter, Amanda Ruf, and one great grandson, Francisco Pollard. Riun was sadly predeceased by his daughter Moneca Ruf in 1999.A Memorial Service was held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 29, 2006, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Keremeos, officiated by Elder Harry Malakoff.
